One New Camper for the Kramme's coming up!
The evolution of the Kramme camper
Our camper that was built was from Four Wheel Campers and has been in the planning for a few years. Being retirement was coming up, a more comfortable means of travel was going to be in order, rather than the previous "roof top tent" setup however that served us well for several years. The new plates read MELS4WC camper. My retirement gift, but it is also Steve’s of course, I just retired before him.
We went with the Woolrich Edition for a Hawk slide -in with the front dinette, these come equipped with everything. It took away from the decision making process as they offer a lot of options.Included is a sink, stove, 130 liter fridge, 160 watts of solar, king slide-out bed, 2 fans and a indoor and outdoor shower. The only added item was a upgrading from a Fiamma awning to a Batwing.
The journey to getting the camper - Tasks leading up to taking it on home to Novato:
Task 1 - Order and put down a deposit (done)Signing the contract on 11/3/2018 - Pete at FWC and Steve making all of this final. Then our wait for 5 months while they build the camper with our options. This was fine as we needed to special order the Ford F250 4x4 truck anyway which would take a few months. Prior to this we planned and spec'd out what we wanted for the truck. We timed it right for when we would have time to roam (my retirement). Little did we know that 2020 would not be as planned.
Task 2 - Order and picking up the truck . Here it is! It was a long wait for it. Our camper was finished a week before the truck arrived, but FWC was fine to hold the camper for us. After a week of sweating the timing out, the truck was delivered. Needless to say we were excited!
Taks 3 - Picking up the camper Install done on 2/11/19 at FWC (done) We were given an day and install time now that the truck had arrived. FWC does a walk through of how to use your camper with you before you hit the road. I sure wanted to have Jessica come with me on a trip to help learn more. Overall it is easy to figure out and the company gives you a thumb drive all videos on how to do everything. We took advantage of using this method to learn more about the camper.
Now the fun begins!
